Difficulty:

Triggers are the way contacts get started on an Automation. This is how you define which contacts will be pulled into a certain Automation.

In this article, I’m going to show you:

  • what kind of Triggers are available in Automizy,

  • plus when and how to use them.

Go to “Build Automations” and select “NEW AUTOMATION”.

Start with a blank canvas.

This will take you to the Visual Automation Builder. Name your Automation and click “OK”. This will open up the Setup Trigger window, which looks like this:

1. Contact joins an email list trigger

The first option is “Joins a List”. This trigger will start the contacts of the chosen list on the Automation.

After clicking on it, you’ll see your Lists. Choose one and click “OK

You can also create a new list you’d like to use as a Trigger. Click on “CREATE NEW LIST”:

Then name it and click “OK”.

2. Contact fills out a form Trigger

The second option is a contact “Fills out a form”. This trigger will start those contacts on the Automation who fill out the chosen form.

After clicking on it, you’ll see your forms in the left sidebar. Choose a form and click “OK”.

3. Contact gets a tag Trigger

The third option is “Gets a tag”. This trigger will start those contacts on the Automation who get a certain tag.

After clicking on it, you’ll see your tags listed. Choose a tag and click “OK”.

Alternatively, you can use the “Add New Tag...” field at the bottom. Type in the Tag you’d like to use and when contacts get that tag they’ll start on the Automation.

4. Anniversary trigger

Automizy’s anniversary trigger helps to trigger your automation every year on specific dates.

Automizy’s anniversary trigger helps to trigger your automation every year on specific dates:

  • First purchase.

  • Customer birthday.

  • Wedding anniversary, etc.

A date-based automation trigger will allow you to start the automation based on a contact’s date field that you can find in the contact profile.

  • Birthday date

  • Joining date

Then you can choose to trigger your automation to contacts:

  • On: The exact date displayed in their field.

  • Before: Number of days before the date displayed in their field.

Anniversary automations are triggered to send at 00:00 in GMT+0.

5. Contact opens an email

The “Open an email trigger” triggers an email that sends after a subscriber opens a specific campaign.

This helps you follow up on your bulk remaining and send segmented emails.

Select the email that you want to segment your contacts based on and click “Ok”

Once you have selected your trigger, you can proceed with building your email automation.
